Rev. Wayne M. Pask, has served Holy Cross since July
2003. He completed his academic training for the pastoral ministry at
Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO in June of 2003 and was assigned to us as
a convertible Vicar. He completed his Vicarage in June 2004 and was ordained
and installed as our pastor on July 4, 2004.
Prior to attending seminary, Pastor Pask was a
Commissioned Lay Minister (1997) in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, and
was certified as a Lay minister through the Theological Education by
Extension (TEE) program at Concordia University, Mequon. Wisconsin. Rev.
Pask was called by Grace Lutheran church to do rural outreach in 6
west-central Indiana counties. As part of that call, he served Living Christ
Lutheran Church, Oxford, Indiana (English District) as their Minister of
Word and Sacrament. He was certified as a church planter by the Director of
North American Missions in St. Louis, MO in 1998. While serving Grace
Lutheran Church, he planted Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Frankfort, IN.
Rev. Pask was born in Medina, New York where he lived
until graduating from College. He was married to his wife, Judy in 1969.
They have one child, who is a graduate student in North Carolina. Pastor
Pask’s occupations prior to fulltime church work included four years of
military service in the United States Air Force, Pesticide Residue
Laboratory Supervisor for the Indiana State Chemist’s Office, Purdue
University, Lafayette, Indiana and Academic Advisor in the School Science,
Purdue University. Rev. Pask has Master’s degrees in Zoology (State
University of New York, Brockport), and Environmental Engineering, (Purdue
University).
